Saddle Fit Explained

Kamloops Large Animal Vet Clinic and Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association Present Equine Balance Saddles. Saddle Fit Explained is a learning experience that is designed to breakdown and simplify, the complicated art of fitting a saddle. We will analyze the internal components of saddles, and compare common materials and methods used today. We will then walk through a systematic approach to checking a saddle's fit, including tips for analyzing saddles on your own. This will be followed by a discussion of common signs to look for in an ill fitting saddle, and the consequences of improper fit. To finish the class, we will take a hands on approach and apply what we've learned to some live examples. Giving us a visual aid, and allowing you to try your own hand at saddle fitting. Katherine Penner is the founder of Equine Balance Saddles. She began her career as a bodyworker, specializing in biomechanics, and soundness issues. This background aided her in her training as a saddle fitter, already used to analyzing movement and response. Katherine did her training as a Certified Saddle Fitter completely independently, meaning she has no bias towards any company or style. The brands she carries have been hand selected, and must meet stringent quality and fit standards, including multiple tree styles, and specialized panels. Katherine works independently on any brand of saddle and created her own Ten Steps to Perfect Fit. This allows her clients to understand their saddle's fit, and goes through many aspects that are often ignored in the industry.
